- This CD contains their earliest works: two cassette-only releases recorded between 1986-87. 30 trax of rare Swedish hardcore, raw and unfiltered yet retaining a classic punk melody. This band was formed by members of ROVSVETT, and also contained members of STRIKER. The enhanced CD will have a long-lost live set from 1988 in MP3 format. This is definitely for fans of Killed By Death/Bloodstains....as these songs havent been heard since their release 20 years ago.

- Review from Warprayer of originall selfreleased version (this version on Punk Before Profit) "After their incredible “... will eat your children's brains!” 7” from last year, 17TH. CLASS continue to amaze (me) with some hyper fast, totally sloppy and absolutely pissed off thrashpunk that contains of course madly screamed singing parts!! These 13 pummeling tracks, including “No class” from REAGAN YOUTH for a good measure, remind me a lot of a mix between the RUNNAMUCKS – http://www.runnamucks.com – and CRISPUS ATTUCKS – http://www.crispusattucks.piraticalskates.com –, so you know 17TH. CLASS don’t fuck around. Collector scum alert: This pearl is limited to just 100 copies, so hurry up!!"

When the planned re-press didn't materialize Havoc stepped into the breach to rescue this modern classic from obscurity. Nine Shocks Terror is probably the most brutal and uncompromising hardcore bands on earth. This LP features their best material, a totally raw and powerful hardcore onslaught. - Clocking a full 76 minutes in 11 tracks, this is soundtrack to utter black, bleak, neverending misery and torture of the soul. Extremely dissonant and rhythmicly slow pounding that crushes each note into a mash of droning metallic post-doom. Like David Lynch force fed on downers conducting an orchestra wielding nothing but razors in their hands. Definitely for fans of Corrupted, Khanate or OMG. This is the Scandinavian version on Black Star Foundation (know for Khoma) and Thrash and Burn. UK version released by Code:Breaker and World wide by Earache.

- Kicked screaming and hollering out of the Lower East Side night in 1998 at the Continental Divide in NYC, Enough Already is the first “official” live Action Swingers album, and the type of vicious rock document rarely – if ever – found in 2004: ruthless, raw, skinned alive from a foot high stage. The true action swinger himself, Ned Hayden, has a reputation of being a real son of a bitch, and it’s true, and if he wasn’t, this music wouldn’t exist! Mastered by the busiest man on earth, Alan Douches, and featuring some bad-assed cover art by the acclaimed Hate/Neat Stuff artist Peter Bagge! TRACKLIST: Glad to be gone, Too far gone, I don’t wanna be this way, You only know my name, Waiting for my chance, How do you work this thing, Fooled again; Excuse me for living, Kicked in the head, You want my action, Incinerated, I’m sick.

- Review from Agony Shorthand "Remember the U-MEN? That wholly unheralded 80s Seattle band held a ton of only-sometimes-realized promise, made up in parts by "there's a bug in my pants" vocals, spastic guitar freakouts, and layering of insane amounts of overmodulated noise over what was essentially a basic garage rock template. They presaged many of the post-hardcore Touch & Go acts, while allegedly inspiring some of the Northwest's better late-80s bands. Now they have a direct descendent, whom I reckon are even better. ALUMINUM KNOT EYE appear to have been kicking around Milwaukee for a good decade now, putting out cassettes and such, and now they've finally got a full-length. It's fantastic -- raw & weird panic rock that just about busts a nut on every chord. Singer also has that crazy hot-oil-just-fell-on-my-foot caterwauling vocal style, and when he's not drowned out by an acre of feedback, he's pretty damn entertaining. Their art-punk riffs are very big and often very disjointed -- they even go so far as to tackle an ALICE COOPER number and pull it off most admirably. That number, "Is It My Body?" is currently in heavy rotation here, as are the opening 1-2 of "Final Fling of the Amputee" and "Scales In The Tub". It's like a who's who of your favorite bands: Electric Eels, Stooges, Chrome, Screamers, Hasil Adkins, etc. I'll bet ALUMINUM KNOT EYE have been marinating in these wild-ass songs for many a year, waiting to unleash them upon us. That patience has paid off with a very fine debut. Dare I say it's artastic!"

Click for more!
- Review from Aversiononline "Here's the debut full-length from this killer Swedish band delivering 11 generally succinct tracks of their menacing His Hero is Gone/Tragedy styled metallic crust punk dissonance with viciously strained midrange growls/snarls. The one glaring exception is the second track, "All Lies", which fuses with "Bring Out the Dead" and nearly triples the total length of the other tracks by running just past eight minutes and dropping tons of instrumental breaks where sludgy midpaced power chord surges shift into faster and more frantic picking patterns and note choices. There are definitely a number of tracks that are a little more straightforward in terms of following a pretty standard attack on the thick, churning D-beat chord progressions with only minimal metal influences seeping in to amp up the heaviness or toss in slight melodic accents, but there are definitely several tunes that deviate from that streamlined approach. The tail end of "Scarred for Life" brings in a hint of sinister piano against some pounding drum fills and repetitious surges of guitar and bass; "Programmed to Receive" is a bleak instrumental dirge with some added strings to provide more of a somber feel; etc. But among my personal favorites, "Hands Out of the Pocket" immediately stands out with its more openly melodic lead lines and over the top relentless energy that includes some quick chugging picking patterns and a catchy sensibility to the arrangements that keeps things moving very well; while "Reminding My Past" feels a little thicker and perfectly balances a sense of in your face heaviness with those same sorts of melodies expressed in "Hands Out of the Pocket", complete with one incredible build towards the end that's among the most intense moments herein. Great work. Closer "Complications" is also awesome with its slow paced clean intro over samples of a rain storm, and the way some of those clean passage return over distorted chords later on is an awesome touch. The recording's fine by me. I might like to hear the guitars given a little more meat to fill out some of the space a little better, but the vocals sound excellent, the drums are hard hitting and have a nice sense of barely raw warmth going on, and the bass pulses away just enough to make its presence known. The guitar tone is pretty damn good as it is and certainly allows for that cold sort of dissonant undercurrent, not to mention plenty of crushing rhythms, but minor adjustments could definitely beef this material up to another level of sheer destructive force. The layout is done almost entirely in black with white text aside from one bleak, foggy landscape across the cover (which almost makes it look like a black metal record), and the lyrics tend to be bleak and depressingly abstract expressions of pain and suffering with underlying hints at a few socio-political issues at times, though not without personal touches: "When you wake up in the dark room don't be afraid you're almost dead this is your final rehearsal playing games no not anymore." I've liked everything I've heard from this band to date, and while this isn't a particularly diverse record when all is said and done, the band possesses a ton of energy and anger, which they communicate well within their song structures, so I definitely dig what they do and look forward to seeing where they take it in the future… (7/10)"

- Pop music was a desert. Up to now! One man has come to quench our thirst. Forget about Michael Jackson AMOS is new. AMOS is the embodiment of mass hysteria. AMOS is the first true Imperator Of Pop. Until the 10th of February the world is waiting for the debut of the pope of dancefloor. Hailing from Teheran he¹s bringing us electrifying beats aiming directly for your legs. On his double A-side Single "I Can¹t stop my feet" you¹ll find besides the title track the hymn "Imperator Of Pop" and the smash hit "Rock". All three of them definitely tearing the soles off your shoes. "I can¹t stop my feet" was the sensation of the Bundesdance 2005 of sueddeutsche.de, one of the most visited german websites of the past year. Thousands of inquiries reaches the Süddeutsche Zeitung in that time. Just as many pre-orders showed up at Sounds of Subterrania. The album "Imperator Of Pop" will be released in the beginning of April and the forecasts are promising since in Fall 2005 friends and relatives of AMOS released the unfinished album on the iranian black market with stunning results. Two years ago AMOS, meanwhile living in Munich Germany, rejected an offered majordeal: "I don¹t care about fame and money, especially not for any price. I want to prove that popular music can also be authentic. That¹s why I can¹t accept compromise." The video for "I can¹t stop my feet" is already in the making and will be produced by designliga in Munich, recently a guarantor for awarded music videos. AMOS¹ effect on women is undeniable and seems to be part of his genetic code. His Grandfather Nostallah Sufi-Siavach for instant had 81 wives and 57 children (true story!). AMOS 250 cousins, today a worldwide network of artists and adventurers like his cousin and race driver Afshin Biruni who was last seen in 1979 when he mysteriously disappeared during the Ralley Tunis Bandundu, form the perfect agars for this exceptional talent.

- Vi Gruer Oss is back with another fearsome attack of blast out Norweigan 80´s Hardcore! They are all over the place and they are kicking som serious ass in the 80´s hardcore category in a style of music that I have just heard Local Oafs done before (Swedish PAST/MISSBRUKARNA fanatics). Vi Gruer Oss is without anyproblem one of my favorit Hardcore bands today! Anti Kontråll sounds more raw punk but still to brutal to be anything exept good old Norweigan Hardcore! They are a bit more into the US style although. This split is one of the best 10" split I ever got my hands on! ALL HAIL NORWEIGAN HARDCORE! GET IT NOW!!!

- Review from AsIce "10 years, countless European and US tours, a fucking Russian tour and hundreds of shows behind them, the almighty Dutch '77 punk-with-an-'82- twist-band Antidote returns with their third album called "Another Dose". Almighty, you might wonder? Yes, almighty! In the mid to late nineties, skate punk and vegan mosh metal infiltrated the minds of kids living the "alternative" lifestyle. This band brought back the real punk in punk rock and saved it from total extinction in Europe. For this, I am grateful. Their first record, "My Life", was good but they were onto something when they recorded the 10" "Go Pogo". To this day, there hasn't been a European band who even touched the brilliance of this record (no seriously, don't even think about commenting about this statement. Oxymoron came close but the rest...nah!). After that came "Back in year zero" and world domination. Back to their roots with this album, saying goodbye to the cristal clear Bunt's sound, they sound more pissed off and punk with this raw production. My favorite tracks are "Camera" and "Laat me met rust" both sung in Dutch. They make me spike the hair that I don't have and pogo through the living room. With punk making a nice comeback in the playlists on hardcore messageboards, I suggest you hardcore kids check out this real (!) punk band. It doesn't get any better than this."

- ANTIGAMA is unrestircted by anything and not-falling-into-patterns look at modern avantgard grindcore and noise. The band was formed in the late 2002 in Warsaw by Sebastian Rokicki (Different State, Garden Of Worm) and Krzysztof Bentkowski (Sparagmos, Damnable, Monev). After joining of £ukasz Myszkowski (Sparagmos, IN) and Macio Moretti (Starzy Singers, Ma³y Szu, DJ HUJ), Antigama had been working intensively on the first album "Intellect Made Us Blind" which has been released short after that. Meanwhile ANTIGAMA started to play shows regulary next to such a groups as: Tragedy, Toxic Bonkers, Fleas And Lice and many others. In September 2001 little tour called Grind Manifesto 2001 along with Damnable and Brainwash took its place. In 2002 up to then bassist Macio left the band, and Micha³ known before from Reinfection joined on his place. With such a line-up the band recorded split CD with Jan Fredericx's (Agathocles) project - Jan Ag. ANTIGAMA put on that record its song interpetations of national hardcore precursors SIEKIERA. Short after, continuation of Grind Manifesto Tour 2002 followed - this time with italian Nefas, Bastard Saints and native Pignation and Toxic Bonkers. In January 2003 the band recorded Promo 2003, which was sample of incoming new material. The CD consisted of 3 new songs + cover of Godflesh "Anything is mine" that appeared on Godflesh Tribute CD. In July 2003 ANTIGAMA recorded experimental material "East Clintwood" with destination to be split CD with Japanese Deranged Insane. In August 2003 the band shut itself in Selani Studio in Olsztyn, where under the eye of Szymon Czech was recording its second album "Discomfort". In September 2003 ANTIGAMA took part in third edition of Grind Manifesto 2003 Tour together with Third Degree and Pignation. At the same time Italian electro/industiral band The Seed remixed, on its own intiative, "Fala" the song taken from "Intelect made us blind". Year 2004 started from few shows and part in Ten Days Grindcore Massacre Tour as headliner together with native Deformed. Spring 2004 brought split CD with Australian band Open Wound. Also premiere of "Discomfort" takes its place on April followed by surprising very good reviews in the country as well as abroad. In June ANTIGAMA recorded 6 new songs on 3-way split CD with Third Degree and Herman Rarebell. Right after that the band got invited on Obscene Extreme Festival 2004 in Czech Republic - the biggest extreme music festival in Europe. 2005 seems to be crucial year for ANTIGAMA's works. In March 2005 the band records songs for their 3rd full album entitled "Zeroland". Re-release of "Discomfort" takes place in April and shortly after that long awaited split 7" shared with Bastard Saints from Italy comes out. In August eventually comes vinyl version of "Discomfort" as 12"LP. ANTIGAMA is controlled and overwhelming chaos.

- Review from Low Cut #28 "Årh hvad, smadderpunkrock! And in Swedish, too, which automatically makes me think of Rövsvett, though these maniacs are way faster and way harder than Rövsvett ever were. (Even so, they give me the chance to mention Rövsvett all of three times in only a few lines, if for no pressing reason, other than I always thought that was a cool name.) For non-Swedish-speakers there's a song here too about "Burning Police Cars", which is probably a lot more relevant and constructive than worrying about Rövsvett (four times) or other old punk bands, which the band rightfully criticize in the liner notes for being "pointless punk nostalgia" (then again, they also sing praise to tofu and soy meat…). These guys are awesome, and it doesn't make it any worse that, judging from the pictures, none of them have reached 20 yet, plus they have two girls in the line-up, one them singing, though you really can't tell from the brutal roar of the two vocalists screaming their heads off over high speed punk rock. Highly recommended and quite healthy for you, too, with all the appropriate political opinions and their being a fresh, young band. If you dig: Zeke, Dead Kennedys, Rövsvett (five times) Grade: 4 out of 5"

- From Havocrex: "Havoc Records best selling record to date with over 20,000 copies pressed. Aus Rotten was one of the best punk bands or the 90's for two reasons. 1. They play excellent hardcore punk in the tradition of Discharge, the Varukers and Chaos UK 2. They make the connection between punk and radical politics in a clear and understandable way. That is to say, Aus Rotten's politics are right up front, but phrased in an accessible fashion rather than obtuse intellectualisms or a PC sermon. Aus Rotten's popularity brings to mind the days of Discharge, Conflict and the Subhuman when political punk bands were just as well known and liked as commercial bands. Fuck Nazi Sympathy is a challenge to the punk scene not to tolerate Nazis and Fascism in the scene. Tuesday, May 18, 1993 is a stark indictment of the genocide in Bosnia showing how little humanity has learned from the horrors of the Holocaust. Aus Rotten also released the Anti-Imperialist 7" which has recently been repressed as well as a split 7" with Naked Aggression. A full length LP on Tribal War followed in 1996. The LP features a fold out poster sleeve, extensive information and a copy of Rotten Propaganda, singer Dave's anarchist newspaper. Once again this sort of packaging and creative attempt to expose the listener to a different political view brings to mind the days of Crass, Discharge, and Conflict. Aus Rotten has toured Europe, Japan and the United States. Aus Rotten released "The Rotten Agenda" LP on their own Rotten Propaganda label in 2001. Aus Rotten broke up in 2001. Singer Dave is now in Behind Enemy Lines while Corey and Eric are in Caustic Christ. Rich who played drums on this 7" is in All Systems Fail."

- review from odysseyzine "Dead Beat Records is an unassuming label with an uncanny ability to dig up some great rock bands. Bad Machine is no exception. They might look like Bad Company -- but they've got an extremely different sound! They're sporting some very very tough and technically proficient rock and roll. I'm thinking Didjits might be a big influence here... They've got the same vibe going on with the monster guitar solos and that same tongue wagging riffage. This is yet another bunch of hair farmers from Northern Europe. Only this time they're from Finland. Actually, a couple of the songs, sound anthemic enough to be a Naked Raygun song played by Cat Scratch era Ted Nugent. And if that doesn't pique your interest, nothing will. This is definitely worth checking out."

- Here we go with more action from our all beloved Montreal connection, BBQ is Mark Sultan on vocals, Creepy on guitar and Bridge Mixture on Drums, all members of the infamous SPACESHITS & LES SEXAREENOS. Got it? Got it? It´s a must-have! "The" soundtrack of all indoor BBQ parties! Mark Sultan is the head honcho of SULTAN Records maybe the best and highly inactive record label up there. All what he has touched turned gold... Looks like he´s released for being a travellin´band...on the stage the characters form to one incredible charming rocknroll four channel loudpspeaker unit, BARBIEEEE-QUEEEWW!... now and throughout the winter on tour with KING KHAN & SENSATIONAL SHRINES in Germany and Scandinavia infatuating the "European Girls"... Recorded in different takes by Edouard Larocque (SCAT RAG BOOSTERS, ROYAL ROUTES) and Andre (DEADLY SNAKES), the album turned out as a r&b drenched twangy "suzie q" rocknroll-delicacy. This is the right answers to yer sisters lame-o indie hipster crowd! You may be certain, BBQ took his frying sausage-medicication regularly over the years and consequently never ever dissapointed in the songwriter scale of the primitive sounds of today. This isn´t music to write poems or fill yer diary with heartbreak´ sentiments, this screams for mixed drinks and getting freaky gut bust´n chile-head food! The BBQ debut 45 on Goodbye Boozy Rec is sold out and our box we had is gone also.. people (?) said: "Dope as fuck! Rock and reverb-barroll!! Pure panty moistification by a true master moistificator! Quick sloppy and goopy. There’s something awfully ‘special’ bout a man that can handle all the work himself, and the ladies are quite aware" CD comes in a digipack with linernotes and encore material somewhere at the end the LP release version "Complete Recordings Vol.1" on SOS Records doesn´t have. - Dissagrement.net trying to expaine BtA "BTA's influence are metal revolutionaries like prog-groove-metal gods Cynic, insane shit like Spastic Ink, crazy black death thrash à la Theory in Practice, math-core geniuses Dillinger Escape Plan and icons like King Crimson, and if these names not only mean something to you, but actually give you an emotional hard-on, then BTA is exactly what you are looking for. It's hard to explain their music: it's fast, instrumental and totally complex and complicated. Colin plays a 12-string super guitar which you need to see to believe that an instrument like that exists in real life. The songs are certainly not easy to remember, but the songwriting is done in a very intelligent way: instead of just layering guitar solo over another guitar solo, BTA mostly play with complex rhythms and at times very doomy stuff, reminding at what Slayer would sound like if they jammed with Tool in a progressive mood."

- BEYOND PINK is an all female band from Sweden and after their debut "Cunt-oh-licious" 7" on Cunts On Discount Rec and Lipstick MachinegunRec, they're back with brand new release: full length LP release on Emancypunx Records called "Jedan dva jebla te ja". It contains 12 songs of fast raging angry hardcore with some melodies and tempo changes fronted by two vocalists. This is definitely something for all those into fast hardcore, as well as riot grrrls sounds and tradition of the 80's swedish hc/punk. Their music reflects how wide influences they have and it makes their music powerful and kicking. Lyrics of BEYOND PINK are alongside with the music, they reflect anger and critical views on issues like macho/sexistculture, violent dancing, cops, pro-life fundemantalists or corporate capitalism and their financial institutions like WTO and G8. "Jedan Dva, Jebla Te Ja" LP contains 20pgs booklet with lyrics of the band and pics. One out of the 12 songs on the LP is a Misfits coversong.

- Review from Equallizing Distort "The BLACK DONELLYS were an incredible band from London featuring the vocalist from OCTOBER CRISIS. Taking their name from an infamous Irish mob with roots in the area, the DONNELLYS were far better then anything that London had ever seen. Sure people might want to credit ’63 MUNROE with that honour, but the BLACK DONNELLYS music has really stood the test of time. These four tracks were taken from their demo by the same name. The ep represents side one of the demo and there is four tracks all equally as good. I applaud Brain for releasing this. I had every intention of doing the same, having seen the DONELLYS every time they came through time they were my favourite hardcore band at the time. I had even gotten the okay from the singer to release the material but had lost touch. I am very greatful to have seen this come out and hope the other four songs are not far behind. What do they sound like ? They kind of remind me of early SNFU but a hell of a lot more scrappier. I am talkin’ “Grunt, Groan, Rant, Rave” era SNFU. But the guitars have a buzzsaw distortion effect and the drums are a lot more quicker and all over the kit in a hardcore way. And Dan’s vocals have a way of constantly building momentum on the last lines. I have never heard a hardcore singer with this style and I have never heard a hardcore singer replicate the style since. He was one of a kind. These is very much a diamond in the rough. 10/10"

- Few other bands from Sweden have inspiered so many people as THE BLACKS! This is a compilation with all there singles. This LP is limited to 500copys and released on Italys Gonna Puke Records. “There was something magical about those times. For me the first time I played in a real band. I remember not being able to wait until the next rehearsal, it was like being in love! "Let It All Hang Out" was thefirst song I ever wrote and it's 10 years ago now. Wow! I was a totallydifferent person back then. I still think it holds up now and there's always something desperate and cool about your first band. Here you got the complete recordings, well, the stuff we want you to hear. Everything that came out on the 7"s we put out. It was made during two years when we went to the States twice on tour. We didn't care about Sweden or Europe. We wanted to be from Memphis, New Orleans, Tokyo, anywhere but here... We were fueled by blues and punk and wanted to be a mix of the Gories, Oblivians and Guitar Wolf. Listening to it now, I really think we had our own sound though and the songs were pretty damn good! It certainly has that teenage energy. So get down, get with it, turn it up and LET IT ALL HANG OUT! Yours truly, Martin Savage”

- This their new 3- song 7" following great debut self released 7". As "EqualizingXDistort" zine wrote - "BLANK STARE fuckin rule as far as straight edge hardcore goes". Seriously this Boston Straight Edge band rips with full energy hardcore assault and good though provoking lyrics. There's enough anger, motivation, substance in their fast songs with good dose of heaviness (think of Haymaker or Left For Dead). This band is influenced on both local tradition of classic early 80's sXe hardcore sounds and good tradition of meaningful and blasting hardcore-punk. Extra point for being not afraid to take controversial or social issues with critical thinking, so rare thing nowadays. Their songs on the new 7" dealing with violence, sexism and women objectification, both in the scene and rest of the society.

- This mixed quartet from Toronto, featuring the Sharon Brothers from HACKSAW and other wreckers from TEEN CRUD COMBO, RAMMER and LEGION 666, already managed to mess up every party in their hometown. Though closely connected to their homies of FUCKED UP and CAREER SUICIDE, their sound is much faster, simplier an more raw-sounding and aims directly for the party-seeking animal in every punkster. "Terrible evenings" and "Vehicle party" sound like ACTION SWINGERS and ZEKE in meaner days. In "Beach party" and GG ALLIN`s "Hard candy cock" they bring the fast and dirty DWARVES back to life, while shaking out a twinstin` TEENGERATE-like Rock`n`Roller with "Le high pointe". All songs are from the "The pleasure is all thine" LP session, mastered and mixed by Jon Drew, who also did FUCKED UP`s "Police" and "Generations".

This is their first and last release, as they already disbanded. CARBONA are from Brazil, and they have 4 LPs out there. - The Carnation was formed in spring 2000. Eric and Christian had been playing together for a couple of years (under the name The Anxious), when Johan and soon after that Robert, joined the band. Half a year later, in November, the first, self-entitled e.p. was released. This four-track recording had a great reception and cleared the way for numerous local club gigs during 2001 and got some national airplay. The band was represented on a compilation of Swedish pop released in the U.S. by Zip Records/Yesterday Girl Records and critics in Sweden and abroad were unanimous that the Carnation was a great promise for the future. In all, the band had a really great start! During 2002 a second e.p. was recorded but only released to a limited extent. The band took some time off, they felt that it was time to renew the sound. Things fell into place when exile-Norwegian Mads Husvik, with tons of experience from various garage-rock bands such as Basement Brats and Nuggets, joined the band. The Carnation was once again ready to step out of the cave. Starting out by supporting Mando Diao and shortly after that making a crowded come-back gig in their hometown in February 2003. Early in 2003 the Carnation signed a record contract with the German label Sounds of Subterrania. The first release was a 7’’ vinyl of the old e.p. from 2000. During the summer most of the material for the full-length album was recorded together with producer Björn Olsson in Music-a-Matic and Sehr Schöön studios in Gothenburg. After the recordings were completed the band went on a Scandinavian tour together with De Stijl. During fall preparations for the album-release has been made. The band has given occasional club performances in Germany where they also have taken the opportunity to meet people from the record company, booking agencies etc. A video for the first single “New Sensation” was shot in November. The music has been described as a young Paul Weller meeting Alex Chilton in a rainy Gothenburg. It’s guitar-fueled pop with a great mix of melodies, trashy guitars and punk attitude. Some critic called it hooligan-pop, really an apt choice of words.

This shit will be in my CD player for a long goddamned time. This was a good brain enema after havign to review that crappy "Aiden" CD. They have not only speed, power, and aggresion, but their high skill level is obvious, and their lyrics are meaningfull, unlike the slop I've been hearing lately. And on a side note, it seems like a lot of these bands have the best cover art. Must be a genre thing. Who would have thought the midwest (Denver) would produce a band like this? All these kids that are calling all these whack bands "hardcore" should listen to bands like this and madball (although two different styles)... then they might trully know what hardcore is all about. You're way off kids."

- From Havocrex: "Following up their 7" on Havoc and splits with Rambo and Intense Youth, Caustic Christ unleashes their first full length on the scene. Poseurs shall know fear as the Caustic Christ hardcore steamroller crushes all opposition. Caustic Christ has one of the most unique "sounds" in current hardcore because they mix the bass heavy drive of Swedish crust with the high octane thrash of American hardcore. The lyrics and music sound so aggressive and pissed off the speakers can barely contain the rage. Lryically the straight forward agitprop of Aus Rotten has been replaced by a more bleak form of social commentary based on a desperate alienation. But critics who think Caustic Christ have distanced themselves from political statements should read the lyrics to Satisfied Means Pacified and other tracks on this LP. The cover artwork is by Tommy Gun who also did the 7" and shirt artwork. I was a little un nerved by the choice of Ha Ha Ha by Flipper as a cover, that band always got on my nerves, but hey some of you out there are going to like it. The CD version of this contains all the 7" and split release tracks as well, making it essentially a Caustic Christ discography of their material to date."

- Breaking The Ice is the latest Cinder release and probably their best one. With 8 amazing songs including a Side By Side cover song, they pay their respect to the hardcore bands of the 80s, from Negative Approach and DYS to the late 80s stuff like Alone In A Crowd or Crippled Youth. Seriously, their new stuff is really good, with lots of anger, energy, and speed, all of which is built on a foundation of solid hardcore song writing and the occassional inclusion of some explosive punk rock part. Short, fast and angry to the point, just positive straight forward hardcore from Barcelona.

- 1-2 go! CD is an example of how old school hardcore is done right. When I think of the new "retro" old school or youth crew bands I first imagine a band playing midtempo simple hardcore with very light and neutral kind of sound and almost clean vocals with crew shouts. Well, it doesn't have to be that way - CD prove that. With a rawer and more ripping guitar sound, a bit harsh shouted vocals and a straight forward 1-2 beat this band is getting far above the lot of the retro old school hardcore, still without sounding mediocre or scruffy.

- Formed in 1979 Colera were one of the first Punkbands from Brasil. After several compilations tracks ( SUB , GRITO SUBURBANO, ATAQUE SONORO ) they released their first record "TENTE MUDAR O AMANHÃ" (TRY TO CHANGE TOMORROW) in 1984. The second one "PELA PAZ EM TODO MUNDO" (FOR PEACE ALL OVER THE WORLD) followed in 1986. In 1987 they toured the first time all over Europe, followed by their second Europe Tour in 1989 and the album "VERDE, NÃO DEVASTE!" (GREEN, DO NOT DEVASTATE) in 1989. The 90s brought the CD only Album CAOS MENTAL GERAL " (GENERAL MENTAL CHAOS) and the 20 anos ao vivo box which included a video, a book a poster and a CD which was recoreded at their 20th live annversary party in 1999. This Lp includes the best songs from the early stuff till the live recordings from "20 anos". Hurry up to get a copy from this!

- It all started as a summertime project; four friends getting together for nothing more than to make some music to pass the time. A small handful of songs later, Collateral Damage was born... As gradually as the original members left the lineup, new ones came into the picture. Long-time friend Jason Zonner (formerly of Naked Ape) joined in on bass, Steve Hutchison filled the guitar responsibilities and Kevin Panter (currently with the Third Degree) for the beats. Then recording the track “Holding My Breath” for the compilation “Guilty By Association”, also on Indecision Records, quickly established them as one of best hardcore bands the west coast had to offer. Since the lineup has developed into one of sturdiness and devotion, Collateral Damage worked to become one of the stronger bands in the Southern California hardcore scene. Constantly bombarding crowd after crowd with their style similar to Ignite and Agnostic Front. Their newest release “Let Me Be Broken” on New Age Records is a strong parallel of steady, straightforward hardcore with all of the struggle and emotion needed to make Collateral Damage a band that you should not take your eyes off of for any amount of time, or else you may be left behind in pieces.

The music changed to a more Rock’n’Roll inspired punk rock. Not as fast and furious as Shake Appeal but more swinging in a Saints, Fun Things, Infections kinda way...only faster! One of the first gigs was at the Adios Moshable Festival in Copenhagen where we opened day 2 at Loppen. This concert was recorded by the Danish National Radio and a couple of months later the whole gig was broadcasted in the radio. Wow. After doing a lot of support jobs the band decided to do some recordings for record purposes. In January 2000 they recorded the first demo: 9 songs on an analogue 4-track tape recorder to ensure the right ’77 feel. The tape was put on CDR and sent around. Tony Slug reviewed it in Hit List magazine: "…somebody release this!" – and somebody did! High School Reject from Holland decided to release a 10" and it turned into the 6-track lo-fi punk rock blast Scene of the Crime. The record got great reviews almost everywhere and even the most jaded man in punk rock Tim Warren was impressed: “GOD DAMN does this record smokeass! Ex-Shake Appeal members blastin out 6 extremely hot & raw & loud punkers…If you dug the Dirtys alb you are gonna dig this. “ The following year the band toured around Europe, both on their own and one tour with Dutch punk rock out-fit the Hot Pockets. In Kassel they met Gregor and a deal for a full length album was made right after the show there. In 2001 their first album “Abrance!” (Colombian for “Get outta my way!”) was released on Sounds of Subterrania and more touring and more good reviews followed. During the late fall of 2002 Sounds of Subterrania put out the second album “Why Change Your Moves?” More of the same balls out high-speed punk rock and a cover of AC/DC’s “Riff Raff”. Slambert and Simon decided to leave the band in 2003 but that hasn’t changed much. Henrik and Jeppe quickly found a new bass player and drummer and they haven’t looked back. More new songs, more kicking ass and more touring is coming up. Gigs in Sweden and Germany have been played and others are on the way. In 2004 The Neckties also got their name on a record in the States. The Compilation CD ”Greaseball Melodrama”. Compiled by none other than New Bomb Turks singer Eric Davidson and put out by Gearhead. The Neckties also managed to get their name on a compilation so far away as Japan and later this year the japanish people should be feeded with danish dynamite rock by help from rock´n´roll gods and the danish goverment. Since the end of the last tour The Neckties have spend alot of time in the rehearsingroom, making new material for the third baby. In the beginning 2005 The Columbian Neckties finally finished their third album. The result is very soon to be in public, and The Neckties will once again present the record on a tour to Germany and it´s neighbours with the energy and smile that characterize them. Like Alien Snatch Records wrote on their website. “Yesterday the COLUMBIAN NECKTIES played and I can say that they are one of most rockin´ bands I ever saw on stage. I´m happy, cause now I can laugh about all those dozens of tough guy cock-rock Electric Gluein´HellaBabySucker bands which are around since some years, I never cared about them too much. - Review from Disagrement.net: "This doesn't really come as a surprise. Denmark's hardcore scene has quite a reputation, and it is a known fact that Complete are good friends with fellow Denish hardcore band Lack. Even the cover artwork and the long, complicated song titles hint at what to expect: brutal yet emotional emo core. Still, Complete are more than just another emo band. Maybe because that genre leaves so many possibilities to its adepts, or maybe because they are plainly great. But frankly, who cares why? What you get is emo core with lots of speed changes, screaming vocals, droning guitars and lots of variety within the songwriting. 2:29 - The Sunday Diary is featuring for instance melodic female vocals, and there's some nice and slow atmospheric parts in The Genetic Inclination Towards Failure. As I come basically from a metal background (which I am trying to hide blushingly these days), I am not so much reminded of the typical references like Shai Hulud (mostly because I don't know that band), but rather of late-80ies VoiVod, which is because of the strange but wonderful guitar sound. This is a nearly perfect album, and the only thing I might criticise is the short playing of just half an hour, especially as there are only 9 songs on the album. Otherwise again a perfect example of how powerful and un-sissy-like modern emo music can be. 9 really big points, and don't forget to visit Complete's webpage where you can legally download 2 songs of this album."

- 'All Systems Go' is the name of the latest album from Complete, and the title itself gives you a striking description of the band: an explosive rock-rocket ready for launch! Complete plays straightforward, intense, passionate and happening rock with punk/hardcore origins, and with 'All Systems Go' the band states that their melodic rock-oriented drive has gained a more important role in their music in comparison to the early years of noise and chaos - of course without compromising the energy and joy of playing that has been a trademark of Complete for a long time. Complete has quite a few shows and releases to account for. These last years they've been touring Europe several times - from northern Sweden to Italy and everywhere in between. The album 'All Systems Go' is the follow-up to their debut album 'Adjusting the perpetual emotion machine' from 2001, which received many good reviews. While the contents of the debut album was very personal and introverted, the new album is much more explicit - the theme being communication, mainly focusing on mass media and the influence it has on our society.

- THE CONFESSION from Sweden are not Jesus Freaks as their band name might initially suggest. Rather, punkrock is their confession. And they have achieved absolute mastery at it. It is first-class streetpunk that plays easily in the league of other Swedish outfits like BOMBSHELL ROCKS and VOICE OF A GENERATION. OK, in Sweden there are streetpunk bands galore but not many of them have this talent for uniqueness. Songs such as "TRAITOR FUCK YOU!" or "TAKE IT BACK" have brilliant catchy tunes and leave an unforgettable mark on those who would listen. The Confession shares one member with the new almighty oldschool hardcore act Sista Sekunden.

- Review from Aversiononline.com "Shit yeah! Here's some crushing metallic hardcore/punk (if you can call it that and do the band justice) from this six piece Swedish unit, in the vein of a rawer Neurosis meets Dystopia or something, but this is still very unique in its own right. Some of the material is slower than imaginable, and some is rather fast with a grinding sort of thrash feel, plus they use experimental noise textures relatively often. Nothing too extreme, just sort of a death industrial type of undercurrent to add more grit to the drawn out instrumental passages. These are long songs with lots of great atmospheric shifts from clean guitars and a hard driving rhythm section (often with synths, samples, and programming adding that extra texture) to more aggressive distorted passages with pulsating rhythms and layers of vocal screams/shouts (three of the band members handle vocal duties). The samples are handled superbly and the compositions are very forceful and intriguing, so I would definitely say that, while these elements have been employed before, Counterblast is certainly an original outfit. They have a great knack for dark, emotional clean passages and eerie dissonant riffing, but the plodding chord progressions and straightforward vocal patterns are equally admirable. Just check out the hauntingly hypnotic intro to "Repulsive" with its throbbing bass, lush clean guitars, and melodic synth backdrop. Awesome. The last track of the actual "Impassivity" sessions is the brief "Last Breath", made up solely of layers of manipulated samples and synths with some (likely programmed) percussive thuds in the distance. Side D of the second LP then offers up three bonus tracks taken from older compilations (circa 1995 - 1996): "Activate" from the "Iron Columns" 2xLP/CD, "Like Father, Like Son" from the "Why Can't We Hate More" CD, and "Tissue of Lies" from the "Distortion to Hell… and Back Vol. 3" CD. The compilation tracks are awesome. They're not quite as long/slow, and perhaps a bit more straightforward and crust oriented to some degree. The recording on the core of the LP is very good for what they're doing. If it was a bit cleaner and slightly smoother in the distorted guitar department it would probably cause listeners to mess their pants, but the bass tone is fucking slick, the drums sound awesome, and I love the vocals and the experimental soundscapes. The distorted guitars are fine, I just want a bit more domineering heaviness for some reason. I just want this shit to hit me like a ton of bricks, and it does on some level, but it could be that much more intense with a bit more oomph to the guitar distortion. The layout is simple but gets the job done. The outer sleeve is printed in black and white with some red on matte stock and contains consistent text with some painful images of a rather skinny dude suspended by hooks through his upper chest. It looks like his skin's about to snap at any moment, and I can barely look at it without wincing. The inner sleeve is black and white, also on matte paper, and has similar imagery with all of the lyrics and other applicable text appearing in a plain font, but at least it's very easily legible. Lyrically the material is as bleak and apocalyptic as the music: "Will we ever walk in peace upon a planet of liberation, away from this frigid system of obstruction and intimidation? Will we ever find a way to defeat the obvious lie, recapture our bodies and souls, regain the lust for life?" or "Progress has its time, Darkness, void, silence, I see into the core, Tranquil, dead, forgotten, Decomposition, My struggle had come to an end, The end to a life of resistance, A new beginning is set to take place, To hell with all human existence." Another killer release from both Putrid Filth Conspiracy and an incredibly interesting Swedish band. I'm going to have to try to check some of this band's older material now. (8/10) Running time - 76:00 (approximately), Tracks: 10 [Notable tracks: Submission, Repulsive, Decomposition, Activate, Tissue of Lies]"

And things sure have changed, but not in the direction I was expecting. I thought they would take their sound to a much heavier and more metal influenced direction, but it's quite the opposite. The metal smelling hardcore of the demo is now much more reeking of punk attitude, reaching for the parts of hardcore where I'm not exactly well oriented. This makes the part of drawing influences quite difficult on my behalf. More old school, and maybe some Minor Threat. Though, at the end of Mindrape you'll get informed that they haven't forgotten their metal! Anyway, great melodies, well played - Definitely something for the hardcore crowd, at least it gets my body rocking along. I pity the fool who hasn't had the pleasure of experiencing the massive mangle machine known as Counterblast. It's heavy, ripping, pummelling and fucking murdering on record, and it's absolutely crushing live. Nothing even comes close to measuring itself with the greatness of this fucking massive wall of sound, only created by Counterblast. Just imaging taking the essence of hardcore, crust, ambience, death metal and sludge, and jamming it into one band. Arrh! I fucking love this stuff!"

- Review Heartattack #40, November 2003 Mark Mccoy "As if in an attempt to bludgeon us with the indistinctive obviousness of their name, one is easily lead to expect what this release suggests: a closed book of routine banality. Crucial Unit is a second tier thrash outfit from Pittsburgh, with a sound laden in gagging-poodle vocals and frustrating gang backup's atop noodley eighties speed metal licks. In most instances, they seem to be throwing together riffs out of left field with little assertion and undercut the brutality with often predictable, embarrassingly-obvious compositions that prevent them from ingraining a single memorable song in the listener's wandering mind. From the sounds of this, the band seems to have had a blast recording in the studio, but one must remember that Pittsburgh is a city that's a wasteland for a reason. This CD also includes their side of a split LP with Municipal Waste."

- Was ist das? you're gonna ask puzzled and excited after listening to these Canadian fellas who hung out too much with their pals of the DEMON`S CLAWS & LADIES NIGHT and finally decided to unleash their own vision of how to wreck music. The result is a pure distortion fest, a mean and noisy attack on everybody's sensitivity, a spastic discharge of the most secret Trashpunk fantasies. Imagine BLACK TIME in a wild catfight with THE FATALS and you get the picture of this hell of a disturbing record. There even is an absolutely no-wave version of NO MORE's ''Suicide commando'' at the end, as if the other 10 songs weren't lethal enough! We all agree that this is the trashiest release on P.Trash so far. And that's a compliment!

Click for more!
- The New York City/New Jersey rock n roll scene has really had a resurgence in the last few years thanks to a small tight knit group of enthusiastic bands, promoters (like Dot Dash Productions), and all around music fans. The DC Snipers are one of the newer bands to emerge from this east coast rock n roll community. The Snipers tend to get lumped in with the garage/punk scene mainly because they’ve played with many of todays best bands from each of those genre (Carbonas, Time Flys, King Khan and BBQ Show, Beat Beat Beat etc.), even though they sound quite different than all of those bands. The DC Snipers are one of the rare breed of current artists that are forging their own musical path. Right up their with other recent inovators like AluminumKnotEye, Human Eye, the Black Lips, the Piranhas and Tractor Sex Fatality; the DC Snipers have set out in uncharted musical territory to create their own distinctive sound. Most people outside of the NYC/Jersey area first had the opportunity to hear the DC Snipers on their debut split single with the Shop Fronts released on Your Permanat Records in February 2005. Don’t bother lookin for it....OUT OF PRINT!! The Shop Fronts (Rip Off Records) straigh forward rock n roll approach complemented the more complex DC Snipers side perfectly! 2 solid Snipers tunes that left many a listeners curious and intrigued as to their next musical offering. Well a few months later they checked back in with a track on the V/A- Let’s Have Some Goddamn Fun! CD that Rapid Pule Records released. A great 16 track regional compilation that documents the cream of the crop in the New York City rock n roll underground. One Snipers track was a minor offering from a band that was long overdue for at least a 45! Well armed with an arsenal of brand new material the DC Snipers hit Electric Frog Recordings in August of 2005 to record the absolutely monsterous ‘Missile Sunset’. 11 solid hits (if that can even apply in this case) that exemplifies the DC Snipers sound perfectly. From the somber rhythmic opening chords of ‘Note To Self’, the song transcends into an anger fueled, ear bludgeoning crecendo before meandering back into mellowness. And there’s just something cool that despite this chaotic rollercoaster, the song is stylistically offset with the atonal, harmonised chorus of ‘Note To Self, KILL YOUR SELF!’ Arty...ya kind of. But more in a ‘ya you didn’t think of it and we did, fuck you’ kinda way. With song titles like ‘Die (They All Want Me To), ‘Electric Chair From Saigon’ and ‘All Humans Are Garbage’ each DC Snipers song blends introspective, detatched themes with pretty catchy, and at times melodic, music that sounds like it’s 3 different songs patched together into one loosely defined ‘idea’. And an ingenious idea at that! The DC Snipers bring something different to the table with each of the 11 tracks on this album; and it’s hard to do that and actually end up with a record that’s good! But the Snipers have proven it’s not impossible. Taking cues from other musical pioneers like the Screamers, Gang of Four, Urinals and the Electric Eels; the DC Snipers forge into their own fragmented, audience-less sector and begin to build a following based on songs that are undeniably catchy without sticking to a musical ‘script’. The most difficult part of being in a proto/art punk/whatever band like this: is to do something completely inovative and different, yet still leaving the listener with something loosely ill defined to grasp onto. And the DC Snipers completely nail that. Check it out or don’t....but I’m sure ‘Missile Sunset’ will appeal to a select group of people that are willing to follow these trail blazers into their own finely crafted musical realm! For fans of: Human Eye, Tokyo Electron, Electric Eels, Gang of Four, Geisha Girls, AluminumKnotEye, Kill The Hippies, Black Lips, Crime, Matachine, Chrome, Flipper, Feelers, Screamers, Monitors, Red Red Red, Urinals, Tunnel Of Love, Tractor Sex Fatality etc.

- Review from the Metal Observer "A split-CD of two Dutch bands, which makes you think into a very different direction at the first sight and which is then more than surprising. Because if you consider the cover and the band name, you would never expect both DE WAONZIN and NUESTROS DERECHOS of smashing such a versed and brutal Thrash Metal around your ears. If you’re listening more careful to the four songs of DE WAONZIN, you’ll hardly trust your ears and even established bands like THE HAUNTED, HATESPHERE, TESTAMENT and consorts (this list could nearly be listed infinite) should take care for the concentrated force of those four Dutchmen. Here they’re making short work of it and they’re smashing in a very good manner, if there would be no tomorrow anymore and “Ao Godverdomme“ (lyrics in Dutch language), “Borderline” and “Among The Enemy” are just stepping over the two-minute-mark. And that’s fine, because instead of repeating one riff a hundred times, the guys of DE WAONZIN are concentrating theirselves on the minimum and so they’re striking like a bomb. They are proving impressively with the song “Lords Of Destruction“, that they don’t have any problem with longer tracks and that they’re also capable of keeping the variety in the highest regions. This song has been arranged in an awesome way, it has been produced crackingly, it’s technical impeccable and murderous brutal; this are the cornerstones of this first titbit. I want more of it and I want it fast!!! Free after the motto “Thrash ‘til death” are NUESTROS DERECHOS also firing out and they’re nearly seamless affiliating to the four grenades of DE WAONZIN. Here we’ve also got some razor-sharp Thrash riffs in coarse numbers, it has been produced equally awesome and equally brutal. On “D.I.Y.“ they’re allowing themselves to include the one or the other blastbeat into their business and so they’re creating more surpises and additional variety. There is also one song in NUESTROS DERECHOS’ native language (“De Strop“), which is complementing perfectly in combination with the pounding music. Those both Dutch newcomers could create quite a stir with the necessary support. Here they’re paying homage to the idols of the Thrash Metal flowering period (American and European, of course) and this certain special music is delivered with a lot of sensitiveness into the present. The desire is also for NUESTROS DERECHOS, to produce more musical dope; with this potential of the present sound carrier a complete work is already now an uncouth acoustic slap into the face of each Metalhead. That’s the way, how it should be, Thrash Metal at its best!!! (Online August 14, 2006)"

- review from lowcut.dk "Fuck you very much! This is a half hour of super primitive, rabid, super fast hardcore that in it's third decade still sounds like a snotty teenager, but The Dead play it with the same efficiency and foolhardy tongue-in-cheekness as Zeke. Short and to the point, along the lines of D.R.I.'s "Dealing With It" album and with vocals reminiscent of Agnostic Front's Roger Miret, there's a rare professionalism to The Dead that keep them on the healthy side of crust, and a leftist political stance that aligns them with Brazil's Ratos de Porão, making them insane, violent, senseless speed hardcore that you can listen to with a clear conscience. They also cover Beastie Boys' "Heart Attack Man" from "Ill Communication", and if they have nothing new to add to hardcore, they still go straight to the heart of it. Great."

- THE DEE RANGERS, titans of the european beatdom and the one & only band with members living in Stockholm & London have finally returned with a new album. “Five spanish minutes” is a swingin’ masterpiece of organ dominated garage-punk, that will keep your mouth open for quite a while and your feet moving 'til it hurts. After two albums on the legendary White Jazz label, one self-released full-length CD and 45s on some of the coolest companies around, such as Estrus, Rockin' Bones and Munster, recording sessions at the famous Toe Rag Studios with Mr. Don CRAINE of the 60's UK rhythm'n'blues legends, THE DOWNLINER SECT and various tours through the whole of Europe, the band is now ready to conquer the universe with their bonecrunching, hip-shake a-GoGo 60's garagebeat! Farfisa driven by none other than fab Parsley (SOLAR FLARES, BRISTOLS), axe swinging by Mr.Sideburn galore Nicke & rumbling bass by the smartest part of the band, Johnny Elfstroem, this is a 12 track mayhem of loud, fantastic produced garage rumble, recorded in Spain this time by skirt wearing garage tornado and chief doctor Jorge DR. "EXPLOSION Munoz". If you dig bands like THE CREEPS, THE MAGGOTS, THE SONICS or THE STROLLERS, well this platter is a must for yer stereo! And with Per Nystroem (the babybrother of Anna of the legendary STOMACH MOUTHS) they got a hell of a singer now! Watch out for more, these guys are the best!

Full of an angst ridden urgency and a blistering, layered powerful style. The guitars rage and weave. The momentum is powerful and forcefully urgent. The vocals are mid-range hardcore scream style with dual vocal parts. Really good stuff. Full of energy with a great mix of power and melody; distortion and discordance; anger and angst; all of which has an epic feeling. I really like it!" (Chris)

- After excessive touring all over the world the Aussie duo infernale kicks off this Live-platter in order to celebrate the Australian participation in the Football World Cup in Germany 2006 and as an encouragement for all three nations involved in the making of this record in their race for the prize. As this is a co-release between P.Trash and A Fistful of Records, the inside-cover features old-school snapshots of both labels local football clubs DSC Arminia Bielefeld and FC Utrecht. The outside-cover football related artwork was done by the boys themselves and they deliver two originals and two coverversions. "Fashion Victim" was recorded live 2004 at DB's in Utrecht and "Working At A Desk" at a Radio Station in Melbourne. From the same radio session comes the PURPLE HEARTS' "Just A Little Bit" and the BEACH BOYS classic " Little Honda" was captured live 2005 at the Maria in Berlin, the city where, according to our fellas, Australia will win the bowl. All 4 songs come in superb sound quality and show the bands incredible live-action.

Totally uncompromising thrash featuring a style that seems to be all their own. If you are looking for some fresh music in this everyday scene then this is exactly what you need. This is highly recommended.

- review from Cosmik "This NYC-based quartet specializes in punky pop stuff that shows off a penchant for catchy melodies and driving guitar sounds. The dual vocals of guitarists Adam and Jeannie are a nice touch: sometimes they take turns, sometimes one sings mainly solo, sorta like John Doe and Exene in X. They write good hooky-filled tunes, with equal amounts Weezer and Pixies in their sound. On the songs where Jeannie takes the lead, like "Two Ton Wait" and "Next Time," her sweet voice propels the songs into super-catchy pop-punkers that wouldn't sound out of place on the radio these days. Fans of pop-punk stuff should check this band out."

- Dirtbombs: One of Mick Collins' many post-Gories projects, for years the Dirtbombs seemed to exist more in concept than in reality. As if in reaction to the bass-less sound of the Gories, this band brought together two drummers, two bass players, and Collins on guitar. Other than consistently loud volumes and lots of noise, the Dirtbombs have a surprisingly diverse sound, composing across a broad spectrum of styles from garage rock, punk, and glam, to classic soul and R&B. The Dirtbombs began primarily as a 7" band, putting out five singles before Larry Hardy of In the Red convinced them to record their first full-length album. In the band's relatively short existence, it has been through at least ten lineups. Looking at the credits from one record to the next, it is evident that the Dirtbombs have had a revolving all-star cast of Detroit rockers: Ghetto Recorders engineer Jim Diamond (White Stripes, the Go, Red Aunts), Bantam Rooster's Tom Potter, Ben Blackwell, a former member of Flotsam & Jetsam, and countless others. Their debut album, Horndog Fest, was released in late 1998. - Lyrically dark and desperate, The Disaster come out of NYC with a blast of powerful and melodic hardcore with raspy forced singing. The music is classic hardcore with melodic sensibilities. Kinda like a combination of Kid Dynamite, In My Eyes and Am. Nightmare. The hoarse vocals are hard and harsh. They fuel the music with angst-ridden lyrics about depression, death and other dismal outcomes. Great lyrics, fast-paced drumming, blazing guitars, and thumping bass propel this into a fireball of fury. Every song is short, unyielding, and lethal. While banging out straight-ahead adrenalized rhythms, The Disaster is capable of sneaking in gusts of catchy melody. Aggressive and vicious!

- Review from Aversiononline "Another interesting release from the Spacement camp, highlighting another Reno band (featuring current and ex-members of This Computer Kills, Bafabegiya, and Soul Emigre) venturing into an indie-ish twist on melodic hardcore/punk. Once more basslines play a dominant role in the rhythm section and weave between guitars and drums, and the music ranges from discordant chords and driving rhythms to chunkier picking patterns and melodic overtones. The lyrics are a raspy sort of spoken/yelled singing, they're not totally clean, but they're not aggressive either. Imagine Jawbreaker gone towards sort of a laidback post-hardcore vibe and you'd have somewhat of an idea what's going on here. They never get chaotic or anything, make no mistake, there's nothing "screamo" about this, it's not acerbic or whatever. They just use melody in an interesting way, so it's not overpowering or overly catchy, but it's memorable and achieves a certain energetic quality. "Burn the CD, Record the Record" changes things up a bit by bringing in acoustic guitars and leaving out the percussion, and "Thrift Store Gem" adds in some droning sort of textures that have more of a modern influence, but other than that the songs are definitely more consistent, relying heavily on rhythm and the layering of different guitar parts to create dissonant yet tangible combinations. The production is pretty good. As is often the case with vinyl there's a little bit of a harshness to the high-end tones, but the bass tone is killer and has perfect placement in the mix, the guitars are aptly distorted without being weak or biting, and the vocals don't lean in front of the music. They're definitely in a good position. I think the guitars could be a little rounder and more vibrant, but other than that I wouldn't mess with too much. The LP is housed in a screenprinted sleeve printed in red ink on matte white paper. Inside is a large xeroxed booklet with a green cover that has lots of show flyers on it, with lyrics and additional art inside. The illustrations are all similar to what's on the cover, and usually reference lines in the songs. Sometimes the lyrics can be a little weird and abstractly idealistic for me to handle, but for the most part things deal with messages of hope and a little bit of socio-political commentary. "And if tomorrow ends today, forget this name and place, try to remember what sound seduced me here. What we leave behind, when this life is gone, travel with dying footprints, to memory and taste…" I like this. The aesthetic of the release is definitely not something that I identify with because I'm not really into the whole positive/unity/happiness thing, but these are definitely strong songs that I can appreciate and enjoy, so I'd be down with checking out more from this band. - Four more songs of ultra-political punk rock that takes inspiration from classic 80's punk rock, ranging from Riot City to Crass to Discharge. With two male and one female vocalist, they hit their message home with a non-stop vocal barrage, directed against such poignant topics as religious intolerance, the senselessness of joining the military, police brutality, and western governments' complicity in genocide in the third world. Disrespect are comprised of veteran members of Minneapolis punk mainstains such as Misery, Civild Disobedience, Destroy and Pissed, Disrespect are rapidly making an inroad towards passing along their passion for punk and politics to the next generation.

- After some year of silence from the great debut ep Dissciorda come back with a full album! the recording is a galopping d-beat tupa tupa soundtracks for the lover the old italian hc! "Damn this is really good! Ilike this more every time I listen to it. Unfortunately it's fair to say this records look really bad. With a logo stolen from Discharge and some less-than-exciting picture you'd problably pass this up. But this band is not a Disclone. DISSCIORDA plays some really out-standing punk that is recorded with the perfect amount of clarity while remaining intensely driving and raw. Ilove the vocals - they are not the least bit crusty, but are instead youth-fully shouted in both the english and italian languages with passion and convinction. In fact then vocals remind me of FINAL CONFLICT. The reason Ireview for MRR is for bands like this, I would have not heard this until it was ten years old otherwise. Isuggest that you find it quickly. Another awesome release from Agipunk. (WK) Maximum Rock n Roll #263

- Review from Aversiononline.com "This band formed from the ashes of Blood Spit Nights (and also features ex-members of Defiance), but despite very loose similarities in style this is a more rocked out and barely metallic take on hardcore/punk. The vocals are gruff shouts (definitely good stuff), while the music is rather straightforward and energetic in its use of moderate speeds and memorable riffing, complete with pulsing basslines and brief yet repetitive song structures with plenty of simple chord progressions infused with rock flavored lead riffs (check out the intro to "Air Raid") and lightly noisy lead playing. "Blister" is a fucking awesome track that makes better use of the faster picking patterns as well as some very subtly metallic runs, plus the vocals seem a little more varied and that definitely jumps out. "And Hang" sort of continues that thread with some almost crossover styled thrashy picking, though it's not quite as memorable. As far as the recording goes, my only complaint is the guitar tone. It's not bad, and I know they were probably trying to really grab onto that biting treble sound that it gets for the leads, but it leaves the rhythms sounding a little thin. The drums sound fucking awesome, as does the bass, both are thick and make use of the intentional rawness. But the songs would have a much heavier drive with an ever so slightly thicker guitar tone. Keep the dirtiness, but thicken it up a little. Everything else, including the vocals, sounds really effective and harnesses way more power than the guitar sound. The layout keeps it simple with lots of politically charged images and some shots of fucking insane dogs along with band photos and the lyrics in minuscule type that's rather hard on the eyes. The lyrics are brief and repetitive, covering the usual topics of war, greed, despair, and all that good stuff, so it's pretty clear-cut. I'm looking forward to hearing more from this band. This EP keeps it short but sweet, and with a little bit more aggression to the guitar tone they'd be set to kill. The songwriting is really good on this thing. (7/10) Running time - 20:25, Tracks: 7"

It's aggressive and frenzied and it's got that unmistakable early English sound too with the bass thickening everything up and really prominent in the mix. This is the original style which bands like the BASTARDS are going for now. DRONGOS FOR EUROPE is THE pioneering sound. There's so much churned out streetpunk these days that it's all so samey and all the bands merge into one... DFE are the originals. This is the real McCoy not some gimmicky flat-cap rubbish. - Ultra fast and highly recomended for Fans of Zeke and Dwarves. While their previous 7inches showed the band's commitment to the sonic discharge of the DWARVES and ACTION SWINGERS, the three gentlemen from the North of Germany tread on an even faster and all-out path with their first full-length record The majority of the 16 songs are peppered with the rage and mean power of early 80s US-Hardcore. Songs like ''Riot in the jailhouse'', ''Everybody's on drugs today'', ''No company'' or ''War in my head'' are jerked out fast and with a cold hand, while keeping the rock hard. Taking POISON IDEA's speedy riffing and rocking attitude mixed with a fucked-up necessity to spill out some guts, the boys meet with CAREER SUICIDE and the BRUTAL KNIGHTS in a greasy public toilet. But of course you also get some of their roots music here with songs like ''Useless'', ''I wish I was pissed'' or the new version of ''I need a drink'' in the ACTION SWINGERS/DWARVES vein and there's even a stomping MONSTERS-like Psychobilly-Trasher on board.

- From Havocrex: "The first full length release on Havoc! DS 13 was my favorite band during the Y2K thrash revival and I was stoked when they told me they would like for me to do their second LP. This LP was recorded at a top studio in Stockholm, has a full color cover and insert, comes on color vinyl and features original cover art by Pushead himself. DS 13's sound on this LP is similar to the last LP, the sound has progressed (regressed) into a more early 80's raw thrash sound. The guitars are less distorted and grindy sounding than the early releases. This gives the album a sort of raw intensity that allows the songwriting and energy to come out full force rather than behind a wall of distorted noise. I would compare DS 13 to early 80's HC bands like Minor Threat, Poison Idea and such, but I really feel they have a distinct hardcore sound all their own. In the years since it's release this LP has become something of a modern classic and remains one of our top sellers."

- Dugong's debut is an incredibly ambitious album. On The Eastmoor Rules, Dugong have added some new elements to their sound, from jazz to emo to indie to post-hardcore, here Dugong break all the rules yet still maintain a strong sense of their own identity throughout. From the pop-punk of New Year / New Start, through the instrumental post-rock of I Have My Mother's Eyes and the Karate-esque People Like You Are Hard To Find to the acoustic Null and Void (a taster of what was to become Nathaniel Green), Dugong created a masterpiece.

- Review from Aversiononline.com "This band features ex-members of the mighty fuckin' Ripcord, and damn do they offer up some pissed off hardcore with tons of speed and raging vocal shouts! This stuff is tight as shit! Straight blasting drums, fast power chords with maniacal basslines slicing a path the whole way through. this shit's done right the way it should be! "Clone" rips into a sloppy guitar solo in classic form, and "Hate Your Kind" drops a huge old school breakdown. "Pure Hate" is a Poison Idea cover - a bit more melodic with a more obvious punk influence, and "Break the Chains" is fast and catchy hardcore/punk originally recorded by Deathwish. Good stuff. They've got a nice, raw recording as well. It's definitely not clean, but it's totally full with an even mix that works perfectly. The lyrics are just total anger, complete with plenty of uses of the word "fuck", which usually amounts to brutal honesty: "What makes you fuckin' think I'd waste my time on you? You fuckin' parasite, I'm not like fuckin' you." The layout is all black and white with oddball facial images on the front and the back covers. A simple xeroxed insert includes lyrics and lineup information. It's as simple as that. The presentation could be better, but watch out for this band because they fuckin' kill. They could be legendary if they keep at it. [7/10]"

- Yes, there is two Swedish Dödsdömd. One of them is D-beat Mayhem Dödsdömd (released on Putrid Filth and Havoc) that gives you three hard blows. Song number two "Den sista Nattvarden" is one of my favorit Dödsdömd songs so far. The other Dödsdömd is hailing from Mjölby and is a Noise project runed by Patrik from Relly Fast records. Yes this combination is total war!!!
