Bio:
A message to you from Knugen.
Ny Våg Records and Cage Match Federation proudly presents "Lugna favoriter",
Knugen Fallers debut album. "Lugna favoriter", produced by Stefan Granberg of
Randy and recorded at Gröndal Studios, delivers 12 punk jams of top hit quality
that's electric, energetic, danceable, and provocative and played with far more
attitude than skills.
This is a record you should pick up if you are sick and tired of what punk has
become today - a four letter combination that helps H&M to sell t-shirts, a
stupid glorification of decadence, ragged clothes and dirty socks or just
another band on MTV consisting of boys with bangs and eyeliner whining about
broken hearts and broken iPods.
Knugen Faller was formed in late spring 2003, over a bowl of tomato soup, at
the local "Food not bombs" in Umeå. At the time three of the members were living
together in the same apartment, and had known each other for a long time. Since
all the members were in other bands they wanted to make a big challenge out of this
new band by not allowing any member to play an instrument they had played before.
Garderoberto switched from six strings to four, Fredda "Frekvent" Reinfeldt bought a drum
kit, Inge borrowed Garderobertos Telecaster and changed his name to Guitarzan and Silvia
Sate put her hip hop skills aside to scream her lungs out.
The bands debut single, "Skellefte stadshotell ep" was released in early 2004 by Cage
Match Federation and got great reviews all over the world. Maximum Rock n Roll listed
it as one of the best releases that year and it was quickly sold out, repressed and
sold out again.
In early 2005 Knugen Faller released their second ep "Inte som ni", also released on
Cage match Federation together with the newly established label Ny Våg. The ep got some
great reviews, such as "the ep sounds like Poly Styrene singing along to a Bloodstains
across Sweden compilation" (Tristano Casanova) and "I really like the last song"
(Jello Biafra). Even Swedish national radio gave it a spin or two. It was sold out
quickly, repressed and sold out again. The band went on tour in Sweden and Norway with
their good friends in The Regulations and played some summer festivals.
Gigs were played, songs were written and during the summer of 2006 Knugen Faller entered
Gröndal Studios (Where bands like The Hives, The (international) Noise Conspiracy, Moneybrother,
Randy and Sahara Hotnights recorded many of their albums) to record their first full-length
album "Lugna Favoriter".
"Lugna favoriter" is based on sad, but true story. On this album Knugen Faller takes you
on a three chord journey through the new right wing Sweden. With the help of catchy melodys,
saxophones and a dark sense of humor Knugen Faller delivers their politically charged punk
rock in classic style. Mixing pop and politics may never have been more unfashionable than
it is today, but therefore it's also needed the most.
Knugen Faller believes that everyone has something to say, and this is our way of doing
it and showing how it can be done. Sing along, dance, get inspired and make what you want
of it!
